Pop! Goes The Cherry
»"Oh, WG, have you really know decency? This is kind of old news, but it looks like IC might have paid off a few people, like the true politician’s daughter that she is, to keep this little gem on the hush hush. But oh, IC, IC, don’t you know that nothing is safe from me?"

Oh, Baby, Baby!
»"Hey Harrimaners, sorry for my brief abscence, but I’ve been just too busy trying to keep track of all the gossip in this school to even be able to write about it! But this little piece of news was just TOO good for even a busy bee like me to pass up."

Casualties were numbered at as many as twenty Iraqistanis, as well as three American soldiers, and thirty of both parties wounded. A statement has not been issued by the army as to the potential terrorists, but WNB is willing to guesstimate that Tyler Durden + Sack Of Mothballs = Big Explosion"

Maine to Pass Bill for Heavy Budget Cuts; Sports, Arts Suffer
» "Maine has been following the precedent set by several other United States school boards and has been cutting funding significantly to schools, especially for fine arts programs. While this mostly affects public schools, it will also affect a small number of private and magnet schools that receive fundings, grants, and scholarships for students from the government."

GENERAL INFORMATION

[ SITE ALIAS ]: relyn
[ THE FULL NAME ]: Madelyn Elyzebeth Applebottom
[ THE NICKNAMES ]: Mads, Maddy, Ely, Princess
[ THE BIRTHDAY ]: April 5th, 1997

[ THE TALENT ]: Band- violin. Madelyn has always been a musical child, one could even say she's somewhat of a prodigy. Her parents started her off with the piano at age three, but while she quickly mastered the instrument she found it too.. common for her tastes. Everyone plays the piano! So she moved on to the flute, which was far more challenging and enjoyable. However a couple years later Madelyn discovered the violin for the first time and fell into seven-year-old love with it, meaning it was either yet another change of instrument or tantrums for the rest of her life. Obviously no one messes with seven year olds, so the violin it was, and luckily so far the violin it continues to be.

[ THE ULTIMATE GOAL ]: Madelyn's still at an age where her 'ultimate goal' changes frequently, according to whatever she's most obsessed with. Right now that's her violin, her first year at Harriman and fame- she wants to be known around school not just as the youngest Applebottom sister, but as Princess Madelyn, the accomplished violinist and all-round girl-to-befriend. Oh, and she wants to be on TV someday. Not to mention own an original Stradivarius violin, one way or another.
[ THE PREVIOUS SUCCESSES ]: Music-wise, Madelyn has performed in various concerts back home, both as a flautist and a violinist, solo and as part of a child orchestra. She also rather likes to think of an overheard conversation in which she was called "that charming, lovely, adorable, wonderfully talented child" as an immense success.
[ THE STRUGGLES ]: Like most youngest siblings do, Madelyn continuously struggles to stay out of her two sisters' shadows, and hates it when peope bring up their accomplishments in reference to her own. It doesn't help that she's competitive by nature, but most of the time she doesn't let it affect her relationship with the two older girls.. much.

[ THE OTHER SCHOOL ]: When she was just about to start first grade, her older sister Abigail had been enrolled into Harriman. It was something Madelyn immediately decided she had to emulate, if only to prove that she was no less talented, and that decision was only further amplified when her second eldest sister started attending Harriman as well. Since she was stuck at the local school in Great Falls until sixth grade, Madelyn had to settle for waiting as patiently as she could until her turn arrived. As a result, her elementary school years were pretty much forgettable on her part; she simply did what she had to do to keep her parents happy, and never really bothered to form ties with her classmates then. For Madelyn, it's always been about Felicity J. Harriman School for the Arts.

LOOKS, LOCKS, AND LEGS

Applebottom, Madelyn Normal_image023

[ THE PLAYED-BY ]: Leisle, Madison

[ THE EYES ]: Madelyn's eyes are darker than the usual shade of green, with her irises verging on a deeper emerald and her pupils even more so in a way that adds intensity and depth to her direct stare. Her eyebrows arch over them in symmetrically fine lines she likes to think accentuates their almost-almond shape, and if asked she'll say that her eyelashes are 'satisfactorily long'. Green eyes for mystery, green eyes for rarity and green eyes for Maddy- they're her absolute favourite feature and while so far the preteen has only used makeup to emphasize them even further for her concerts, she loves the effect enough that it won't be long before the eyeliner and mascara becomes part of her daily routine.
[ THE HAIR ]: Blonde and wavy, with faint darker brown tints streaking through, Madelyn's hair is a hundred percent natural- and proud of it, thank you. It's just the right amount of volume, and aside from the occasional split ends is surprisingly easy to manage. Cut in layers, the ends curl in softly to frame her face; the shortest bits are level with her earlobes and the longest strands fall to several inches past her shoulders. Maddy loves the fact that her hair practically glows under the sun, without the aid of any overpriced haircare products. She has them, yes, but really they're all just pretty bottles left there for show.
[ THE SMILE ]: Unfortunately, where Mads has been genetically blessed with gorgeous eyes and great hair, her teeth fall a little short of perfection. They're not nightmarishly crooked, thank god, and they're as white as can be, but when Madelyn smiles it's obvious that they're not as straight as she would wish. Equally unfortunate is her rather irrational fear of orthodontia- she's caused quite a few scenes whenever her mother- who's especially particular about Madelyn's looks for some reason she's never figured out- brings up the subject of braces. Of course, Maddy knows she'll eventually have to give in- she doesn't like having uneven teeth either after all- but for now she's quite happy to prolong the matter, and still smiles and laughs openly without any hint of self-consciousness.
[ THE OTHER FACIAL STUFF ]: At this stage, Madelyn's features are still somewhat rounded by baby fat. Her dimples are deep, and charmingly visible whenever she smiles. She also has a dusting of very faint freckles across her cheeks and nose- the latter of which is slightly too rounded for her taste.

[ THE BUILD ]: To put it simply, Maddy still has a child's body, as yet unaffected by the effects of puberty. She's just slightly underweight; her frame is slender and straight as a rail, completely lacking in any curves. Just like with her face, Madelyn has remnants of pudge, on her stomach and arms mostly, but these are slowly vanishing as she grows and even now are barely visible.
[ THE HEIGHT ]: 4'1''
[ THE WEIGHT ]: 72 lbs
[ THE POSTURE ]: Madelyn is a Princess and Princesses never slouch. Never. She carries herself proudly upright at all times, whether she's sitting or standing or playing her violin. Even at her young age she practices a graceful walk; she doesn't try swinging her nonexistent hips, but keeps her chin up and her eyes fixed directly ahead. And unless she's trying to prove a point, she doesn't drag her feet- she's a perfect little lady, really.

[ THE CLOTHING ]: It's easy to see the kind of fashionista Madelyn's growing up to be just by looking into her closet. She's all about dresses and skirts, especially the kind that swish around her with every step. Ribbons and cute floral patterns can be found on almost every top, and black is a rare colour among her clothes. Maddy loves bright pastel colours and surrounds herself with them as much as possible. Her shoes are equally girlish, although darker colours do feature more commonly. As for accessories, Maddy admittedly doesn't have much of her own, but her dresser drawers are filled with necklaces and bangles and things she's snuck out from her sisters'.
[ THE HYGIENE ]: Madelyn has a deep-seated dislike for dirt and mud, and so she keeps herself meticulously clean all the time. She revels in taking long, long showers, and constantly indulges in bubble baths whenever she has the extra time- and sometimes even when she doesn't. Her showers always leave her smelling pretty and feeling wonderfully fresh, and it's no surprise to members of her family now to see her padding along to the bathroom at odd hours of the day when she's at home.

FAMILY: HATE TO LOVE 'EM?

[ THE PARENTS ]: Alexander Applebottom, works as an accountant for many important clients. Diane Alice Applebottom, secretly working as a prostitute behind the housewife mask, trying to keep the family routines running smoothly. Mads is very adamant about being her parents' favourite, and delights in her status as the baby of the family- it opens up all sorts of doors for her. She hates it when her parents are too busy to entertain her whims, and sulks when they pay more attention to her sisters; although she frequently throws tantrums whenever things don't go her way, she's also very eager to gain their approval and constantly works hard to do so.
[ THE SIBLINGS ]: Abigail Emily Applebottom, singer, seventh year. ______ Applebottom, third year. Maddy adores her sisters, of course, especially when they're being nice to her and letting her boss them around, but sometimes it's just sooo irritating that they've already accomplished so much and she's expected to catch up! And of course, when they're around it means she doesn't have her parents' full attention.. and that's just not supposed to happen to a Princess.
[ OTHER IMPORTANT RELATIONSHIPS ]: Madelyn's bestest, most favourite relative is her Uncle Adam, her father's younger brother. Uncle Adam is a bachelor, but he's amazing with kids- and always, always has time for Maddy. It was he who coined the nickname Princess for her, and seldom calls her anything else now. Maddy loves him as much as she loves her parents, and she loves that she doesn't have to share him with her sisters either- not as much as she has to share her parents, anyway.
[ IMPORTANT ANCESTRY ]: Her family's distinct lack of ties to any royal bloodline is something that has bitterly disappointed Madelyn for years. What's the point of being an old family name if you're not related to a real King? But that's okay, because her Uncle Adam tells her she's a Princess no matter what, and so she is.
