[ THE DISLIKES ]:

++ Singapore. It feels creepy to Nyx. He likes the city, sure. But not that much.
++ Flats, especially girls flats. It doesn’t feel right.
++ People who are stupid and don’t understand. He doesn’t want to be a girl, he just likes those clothes.
++ Whiny people who have perfectly good lives. He found out the hard way that his life could be good.
++ Sports. He always hated it back when he was a small kid.
++ Close minded people.
++ Summer. Despite the opportunities for great clothing and the boy-watching opportunities. Especially when it gets too hot in California.
++ Dogs. Especially small dogs, because they’re whiny and yappy and horrible.
++ Waking up before midday. He likes a lie-in.

[ THE ULTIMATE GOAL ]: Nyx would love to change the world. Quite literally. But as it is, he’ll just stick with becoming a performer in Broadway musicals- they always need new musicians, right?
[ THE PREVIOUS SUCCESSES ]: Managing to save up enough to pay for a whole year of Felicity’s for himself. His parents have paid since he began. But his whole second to last year is paid for by himself. He also managed to save enough for a new oboe- no mean feat when it cost $7,000, but he loves his oboe to bits. It’s so beautiful. A beautiful Howarth Conservatoire Oboe.
[ THE STRUGGLES ]: He spent a long time doing odd jobs, trying to save up enough for a year at Felicity’s. His parents did contribute, by matching every single cent Nyx saved. Though he could have just as easily spent that money on a new car. And OCD too, which has come up through stress in trying to raise this money.

[ THE OTHER SCHOOL ]: Nyx was always good at maths. He was bad at English and spelling though, but he blazed on through the years. The school was proud of him, he was a talent and was going to go far. They could finally say they produced a celebrity- or close to. Of course, his sister was first, as it happens.

LOOKS, LOCKS, AND LEGS

[ THE PLAYED-BY ]: Mitchum, Kian

[ THE EYES ]: Expressive deep brown eyes stare out from eyes that look permanently ringed with eyeliner. They are slightly on the small side of eyes, as far as eyes and faces go, but they don’t look out of place. Shaped like cats-eyes, they are easily set into an expression of pleasure, or a malevolent look. Those eyes are also slightly hooded normally, like when he’s relaxing.
[ THE HAIR ]: His hair changes a lot. Currently it’s a scraggly brown mess that falls just to his shoulders. It can be suitably tidied up when he has the time, and he often makes the time. However that bed head look is just about perfect for him. And once he even had a very nice bob that unfortunately grew out. He’s never bothered to replace it. It was such hassle to get it cut.
[ THE SMILE ]: A luscious pout often graces Nyx’s lips. He really likes his lips, which are all soft pink and look incredibly soft. His actual smile displays pretty white and straight teeth- he has had braces and he does have a thing about oral hygiene.
[ THE OTHER FACIAL STUFF ]: His cheekbones are high and razor sharp, a quality that he rather likes. His nose is quite long, but straight all the same, with maybe a couple of lumps in it. His jaw line is rather square also.

[ THE BUILD ]: He’s rather skinny (actually on the underweight side of skinny), but not without some muscles. His rather effeminate body (that would have occurred anyway) is in part due to the hips that are rather prominent, but no so much that they look ridiculous.
[ THE HEIGHT ]: 5’10”
[ THE WEIGHT ]: 141lbs
[ THE POSTURE ]: Nyx… he minces. Just the tiniest bit. He holds himself straight (impossible to do otherwise in the often ridiculous heels he wears), and sways his hips as he walks. It’s hard to do otherwise in heels like he wears.

[ THE CLOTHING ]: He loves his skirts, which are just so cute that he can barely wear them without being very conscious of what’s happening to them (e.g. getting dirty). He doesn’t always wear skirts though, no, sometimes he wears dresses. Or… or… occasionally he’ll wear jeans! He prefers skirts though. He likes ruffles too. Not to be cliché or anything. He likes the way they fall, the way they can flounce, and make someone look incredibly feminine without him having to lift a finger otherwise. He also has a thing for shoes. Shoes, shoes and shoes.
[ THE HYGIENE ]: Oh gosh. He’s incredibly self-conscious about his hygiene and will take all measures necessary to be clean. He hates having dirty hands, and also dislikes the feeling of unclean teeth. If he spills anything, he will clean and bleach and do anything to get rid of the stain- it translates over to his clothes and his hygiene.

FAMILY: HATE TO LOVE 'EM?

[ THE PARENTS ]:
Robert James Johns, owner, and chief programmer for Abraxis Software. He owns a small firm that does very specialized software for large companies. Nyx did try to understand once. He just… didn’t get it. Aside from the fact that the computer comes before family, Nyx actually has a really good relationship with his Dad. Male bonding, per se, but without the testosterone from Nyx.
Sarah Elizabeth Williams Johns – Housewife, and activist. She hates the fact that her husband does the work he does so makes up for it by joining the cause of the week. Save the whales, vegetarianism, PETA, whatever, she is up in Berkeley a lot. Nyx likes the whole ‘save the planet’ type thing. He’s quite glad that his parents paid for the school. He’s also glad they just… accept him as he is. It’d be a pain if they didn’t because he’s not changing. He also reckons they had a hippie moment when they named him- he looked up his name on the internet and apparently the Greek name for the Goddess of the night is Nyx. Well, thanks, they named him after a girl. This cued a major strop for all of a week before he forgave them- after all, Nyx is actually a pretty damn cool name.

[ OTHER IMPORTANT RELATIONSHIPS ]:
Aunty Lynn, his mother’s sister and best friend. Nyx and Lynn get along well. Lynn says it’s the y’s in their names. Nyx reckons that secretly she wishes she had a daughter and Nyx is the closest thing to it. Quite disturbingly.
[ IMPORTANT ANCESTRY ]: None really. Some the family might decide to count as important (such as the fact that he is descended from William the Conqueror. But who cares, really?), but nothing he sees as all that important.
