[ THE NATIONALITY ]: Lys was born in London; his parents immigrated to the USA when he was 10 and they now live in a large loft on the artistic side of New York City.

[ THE TALENT ]: He is a dancer by training with a small penchant for poetry that he hasn’t really fostered; he goes to Felicity for his talent in modern and ballet.

[ THE ULTIMATE GOAL ]: As horrid as it is, about to graduate and all, he doesn’t have one. His current goal is to find something where he can be happy and work doing what he enjoys to do after school.
[ THE PREVIOUS SUCCESSES ]: He, like Sophia, has had internships with the New York City Ballet for the past two years. When he was younger, he trained in the Queen’s Ballet in London and performed for Parliament and the like. He has mostly focused on his schooling since being in the states, however, and as such does not enter competitions and has only participated in the internship close to home.
[ THE STRUGGLES ]: Will has had everything he wanted since he was a child; other than strict parents that expect much of him scholastically and artistically, which he has managed to appease for this long, he has no hardships to speak of. He’s lived a very easy life.

[ THE OTHER SCHOOL ]: Will was homeschooled in London due to his intensive training schedule with the ballet; he had a variety of tutors for other subjects and his parents, of course, taught him everything he needed to know about English and the Arts.

LOOKS, LOCKS, AND LEGS

[ THE PLAYED-BY ]: Gyllenhaal, Jake

[ THE EYES ]: Will’s eyes are a dark blue, almost navy (particularly in cloudy weather). They are a solid color, with little to no depth, nor do they have the traditional flecks of color that speckle most irises; they are, instead, simply blocks of pigment often accented by blood-shot eyes, a sure sign that he’s been spending time with his old friend. More circular at the bottom than the top, they have the appearance of being particularly wide and are flanked by thin lashes and thick, dark brows, which he cares for daily to keep them trim.
[ THE HAIR ]: If ever there was a pretty boy, it’s Will. Don’t be fooled – the careless mess of hair that he often sports is actually a carefully formulated coiffure, tamed with a comb and fair amounts of fluffy mouse to keep it nice and soft. Often, for dancing, he slicks it back old-school, and this, too, seems to be quite an attractive look for him.
[ THE SMILE ]: Will’s smile is bright but quite goofy; it’s hard to take him seriously with such an expression on his face. One corner of his mouth turns up more than the other, and his teeth, just slightly stained from smoking, still stand out white behind light burgundy lips. More often that not, he’ll smirk; this is his trademark expression, one that dance instructors have constantly warned him not to use in recital.
[ THE OTHER FACIAL STUFF ]: Jake has the usual small amount of teenage acne around his chin, but being the girl that he is, takes such good care of his face that if he does have a break-out it’s not evident only a day later. He has a few dark, flat moles but one particularly prominent above his lip, in the left corner. It’s quite endearing. His nose is quite long but it fits with his long face, squared chin, and triangular jaw line.

[ THE BUILD ]: Jake’s body looks like pictures out of anatomy books; he can only really be described as the traditional ‘ripped’, all hard lines and edges and definition, from head to toe. His abdomen is particularly sharply cut, and it’s no wonder – when he isn’t dancing, eating, or smoking, he’s usually in the gym unless his friends can draw him away. He has a serious affection for working out; perhaps it’s because he has an affection for himself, but regardless, he keeps his boy in top shape.
[ THE HEIGHT ]: 6’O”
[ THE WEIGHT ]: A healthy 200 pounds of muscle.
[ THE POSTURE ]: His posture is quite relaxed; he often has his hands tucked in his pockets and his shoulder back, and tends to walk with the lower half of his body more forward that the upper half. Funny, considering how ridiculous he looks when in reality he is a god on the dance floor.
[ THE CLOTHING ]: Jake wears whatever his parents buy him, mostly, but by now they’ve gotten the hint that he prefers loose clothing, pants with holes, and old sixties tees that often proclaim the names of particular bands of the time, including his favorite, The Beatles. He boasts to owning over 30 Beatles shirts, but no one’s counted.
[ THE HYGIENE ]: Will showers once daily, a fan of conservation; if not for the fact that he’s so pretty, he would probably cut even that back to one every other day or so. He is an avid tooth-brusher in order to avoid really significant effects of smoking, and wears his deodorant like a good boy.

FAMILY: HATE TO LOVE 'EM?

[ THE PARENTS ]: Drs. Peter and Katherine Gates, who fondly refer to each other (in a manner that grosses their son out) as Petruchio and Katerina, in reference to The Taming of the Shrew and the original competitive resistance they had towards a relationship. Extremely voracious colleagues at Cambridge, the eventually developed a fondness and love for each other that led to their marriage. Their shared love of Shakespeare is something that Will is all too familiar with, being named after their favorite character and the man himself.
After success in their own careers, however, the Gates chose to enter an early retirement when it became clear that their occupations were going to interfere with their son getting the best encouragement and training possible for his talents. While there is some discussion of leaping back into the field, both of Will’s parents are content as they are – while it was an early retirement by their standards, there are quite aged, as they had Will later in life. Peter is 60, and Katherine is 59.
[ THE SIBLINGS ]: None. Will is an only child.
[ OTHER IMPORTANT RELATIONSHIPS ]: Other than the most ridiculous (but loved) parents in the world, none.
