School Rules
DRESS CODE:
Harriman does not mandate a uniform; for this reason, we expect the following dress codes to be properly adhered to:
1. Shorts or skirts must be finger-tip length or longer.
2. No spaghetti straps or leggings may be worn outside of dance class.
3. Proper footwear must be worn at all times.
4. Inappropriate or excessive bearing of the chest or midriff area will not be tolerated.
5. Students MUST bathe regularly.
6. Students may never wear t-shirts or clothing with any violent imagery, gang symbols, profanity, or general vulgarities depicted.
SCHOOL RULES:
1. Alcohol, drugs, and tobacco products are strictly forbidden to students. If a student is of age to smoke tobacco, they must do so outside of the STUDENT building, and may not do so anywhere else.
2. Student curfew is 10.00 pm. Friday and Saturday night curfew is 11.00.
3. Students may not leave campus Monday-Thursday without a teacher or parent note.
4. Use of profanity or otherwise inappropriate language or gestures will result in a detention.
5. Cutting class will result in a detention and makeup hours for that class.
6. Pets and animals are strictly forbidden in all areas of the school.
7. Students must respect all campus facilities. Any and all vandalizing or other damages to school property will result in an investigation and heavy fining, as well as suspension and possible expulsion.
8. Student-staff relationships are STRICTLY forbidden. In the event that a student-staff relationship is occuring, the student will be suspended or expelled, and the teacher will be fired without question.
9. Teachers have the right to discipline students by issuing detention or other reasonable forms of punishment. Corporal punishment will in no way be tolerated, however.
