Angel In The Music {Open to first poster}
A muttered curse could be heard clearly in the empty room- where no chatter or, for that matter, much else existed. Except rows and rows of music. A light pink top lifted, the soft wool pulling across skin as Nyx reached up for the music he aimed for. So much else in the school was new, modern and almost soul-less, had it not been for the constant stream of talent that flooded through the halls, making everything brighter and more colourful. Finally, he took hold of the box and pulled it down- a cardboard filing box holding the music for 'Gabriel's Oboe'.
The music library felt so old when compared to the rest of the school, Nyx mused, as he set the box of music on the table at the end of the row. It had an other worldly feel- after all, only the music students ventured in, and generally only when they required music. Which wasn't often, because most picked a piece that would be able to hold their interest for weeks at a time.
Nyx straightened his skirt- a pretty tartan style one in black, grey and red- and ignored the fact that his tights were starting to annoy him, the black material rubbing on his legs. That didn't matter. What really mattered was the fact that he'd chosen today to wear in his new heels, and was currently tottering around on them with sore, aching feet and probable blisters on his heels and edge of his foot.
No matter. Once they were just right, he'd be able to not slump and walk properly, his height would be enhanced by 5 inches. Oh yes. 5 inches. Not that he was small, by any means, he'd just seen this pair- with their soft grey suede and bright red leather- and had just had to own them. Red leather wrapped the heels, and swirls of red patterned the grey, which was the whole shoe, pretty much. Red flowers, that was the main feature. However, as Nyx sat in the comfy chair to flick through the score, he groaned, and kicked the shoes off, not even bothering to undo the bright red buckle.
"They better fit me soon...
His voice trailed off as he opened the score and pulled his feet up, massaging the ball of his right foot with an absent hand. Opening the score, his eyes began to glaze to other-world expression almost straight away. He heard the patterns in his head- he'd already heard the music- and smiled. Soft, real, and undeniably rare.

Re: Angel In The Music {Open to first poster}
Clay needed a new piece of music. He had run his last piece through over and over, but it just wasn't right. He'd been commended on his technique, but he didn't like how the piece felt. Playing it was one thing, but actually clicking with it was another entirely. He didn't feel he could do any piece justice if he didn't click with it correctly. So, off went Clay to select another piece. He wasn't decided on what piece he wanted to pull out. So he was just going to the music library to return Bach's Minuet and sift through the dusty sheet music for another piece to try out. Humming softly to himself, he opened the door and froze momentarily.
Nyx.
Great. It would be good just to ignore him. Carefully stepping into the room, he skirted around the effeminate male and put Minuet back in its place. Then he rand his fingers along the shelves, searching for the piece he'd like to play most. His fingers didn't stop for quite a while. Until, finally he came across the perfect piece. Something he hadn't played in years but absolutely loved. Clay's fingers gently pulled the sheet music for Flight of the Bumblebee. He'd loved this piece when he'd first played it, so it would be good to relearn all the steps once more.

Re: Angel In The Music {Open to first poster}
Nyx had been startled when he'd actually noticed the footsteps. He sure as hell hadn't noticed anyone enter, and he was actually considering putting the piece back until he'd noticed where and who that someone was. And, ugh, there was the piece he fancied playing, a free and fanciful piece with a wonderful solo by Rimsky-Korsakov. And there was Clay, in the way of where he wanted to be.
"Well, Flight Of The Bumblebee. Isn't that all chromatics? Surely you should have learnt them by now..."
A slightly malevolent smile was on Nyx's face as he gestured towards the music. Even so, he slipped past Clay and fumbled on the shelf for the piece he was looking for- after all, he was pretty sure there weren't many oboe players in the school that would look for these sorts of things. Scratch that, he was sure there weren't many oboe players in the school. Even so, Nyx found himself sighing when he couldn't find the piece on the shelves. He'd just have to find something else. Even so, he couldn't resist a good dig at Clay whenever he could.
"I'm sure you can find that beatboxing flute player on Youtube. Maybe he could teach you a thing or two."
Turning his attention back to the music, he began to scan for something. He didn't know what, maybe a good Bach sonata to calm his nerves (which weren't all that rattled- it was just that being in the same place as Clay for too long made him a little tightly wound). Or maybe he could go borrow Swan Lake again. Yes, that famous solo. A beautiful solo though, calm and serene, like water on a pond. Yes, that could do.

Re: Angel In The Music {Open to first poster}
Clay grit his teeth but did not raise his voice in protest. He knew he was quite capable of playing the damn song without any ribbing. Was it that silly that he liked the nostalgia it brought with him? Stupid Nyx. The little comment about the beatboxing flute player had him chuckling. "Don't be so sure. I do believe that he learned everything he knows from me. You must be highly confused to compare me to him. I think you're thinking of yourself." He wasn't going to let Nyx get to him. Although, since the other teen thought Flight of the Bumblebee was so simple, he shifted back to the shelves. Long fingers skimmed the pieces of music before he found Swan Lake. Two pieces. Good practice. Without a backward glance, he sauntered toward the door.
