Charlotte-Ann Hawkins
UHM, OKAY. CLEARLY ERIK IS NOT A LITTLE GIRL NAMED CHARLOTTE. BUT I TRIED TO REGISTER TO CREATE "Charlotte-Ann Hawkins" LIKE A BAJILLION TIMES, AND MY FREAKIN' COMPUTER WOULDN'T LET ME. IT PISSED ME OFF SO MUCH THAT I'M SKIPPING OVER THAT STEP FOR THE TIME BEING.
[ SITE ALIAS ]: Charlie, or a variation of that name.
[ THE FULL NAME ]: Charlotte-Ann Sierra Hawkins
[ THE NICKNAMES ]: "Shar" "Sh'rann" "Lottie" "Sisi" "Sierry" and any other variation on her name are fine. Charlotte is so used to having her name change, that she'll respond to anything if it looks like the person is talking to her.
[ THE BIRTHDAY ]: October 31st, 12 years ago. (She's 12. Her birthday's on Halloween. Please don't make me do math on the weekends.)
[ THE AGE ]: 12, though we've kinda established that.
[ THE GENDER ]: Female, though she acts very boyish and has been known to disguise herself as a little boy on occasion.
[ THE SEXUALITY ]: We'll assume she'll grow up to be straight, but at the moment it's kinda hard to tell since she's just a kid.
[ THE NATIONALITY ]: A gen-yew-ayn red-blooded American, straight from New Mexico.
[ THE TALENT ]: She really only has talent in literature. She has a fairly pretty voice, but no stage presence whatsoever. She can play acoustic guitar, and pretty well for her age and her tiny fingers (she can barely hold the thing), but it's nothing remarkable. She has been known to compose her own music, but again, nothing crazy. Just some pretty, lonely chords put together when she's fiddling around. Ironically, she can't fiddle.
[ THE GRADE ]: Uhm... sixth, right? Yeah. Sure. Whatever.
[ FORM OF STUDENT ]: Scholarship. YEAH-ZUH. Writing may be all she can do, but she does it damn well. =]
[ THE INTERESTS ]:
[ THE HOBBIES ]: She likes to...
[ THE DISLIKES ]:
[ THE FEARS ]:
[ THE TRAITS ]:
[ THE ULTIMATE GOAL ]: The ONE thing would to become an awesome, gunslinging cowgirl (disguised as a boy, of course) like in the movies she'd watch. But since that's unlikely, she'd like to just have enough money to be able to buy a horse (maybe two!) and roam around wherever she damn well pleases, doing whatever she damn well pleases.
[ THE PREVIOUS SUCCESSES ]: Shar beat up a boy 3 grades above her at school once. It got her kicked out, but she left a hero. She's won quite a few young writer's contests, but she doesn't think it's that big of a deal. Her dad made her give him all of the cash rewards, anyways.
[ THE STRUGGLES ]: (My charries are soooo unrealistic. I feel sorry for whoever makes this girl's brother. 8P)
Shar's dad did something bad, but Shar doesn't know what. She's not an idiot, she knows that they're running around to different small hick towns in Texas and Arizona for a reason. She knows there's a reason her dad left her mother. Not divorced her, since they weren't married in the first place, but left her. She pretty much figured out her Dad took her and not her brother because her brother isn't her dad's. She also thinks he'd probably have left without her, had she not already won him $1,500 in a state-wide gradeschool writer's contest. She's had to change her hair color and her name so many times it's become routine, and now she does it for entertainment. She sort of shuts herself off to outside people, because even though she's started attending Felicity, she knows that somehow, for some reason, she'll have to pack up and leave again. She doesn't like her brother and her mother, because when her dad took her neither one of them tried to get her back. And when her dad called her mother, asking her if he could use her last name for admitting Shar, her mother just said "Sure," and hung up. She hasn't talked to her brother yet at Felicity, and she hopes to keep it that way. She was horrified when she found out he was attending the prestigious school her dad'd made her work so hard to get into. She's had to live her whole life lying, scrapping, cheating, and on a rare occasion stealing for some sin that she's positive her dad committed, but she doesn't know what. And he told her not to talk about him at school and to lay low, and she has. She kind of hopes that he at least did something cool like rob a bank. It's hard to see him as a fugitive on a Wanted poster if all he did was lie on his tax returns or something like that.
[ THE OTHER SCHOOL ]: Shar attended a lot of different schools, some new and some looking like something from a cartoon, red bricks and a little bell on top and all that. She didn't get very good marks, and she blamed it on the fact that she was always joining in the middle of something. But really, she just has a terrible attention span, a low tolerance level, and doesn't like to pay attention. Instead of writing notes, she'd take out her notebook and would just write. Though it made her grades less than par, her writing skills developed rapidly, and that was the reason for her scholarship to Felicity. Her mix of straight Cs with three (excellent) submitted works sort of evened each other out. The deciding factor was that she clearly came from a poor lifestyle, and she'd never get into a school like that with a dad like her's. And since her writing was too promising to let her slip away, she got the scholarship. Whoopee.
[ THE PLAYED-BY ]: Fanning, Dakota
[ THE EYES ]: Shar has very large eyes, and was called "bug-eyes" by a kid in school once. She socked him in the jaw. For some reason, after that, the nickname didn't catch on. Her eyes are very round, and very, very blue. She often observes people with her round eyes, and even if her lids are lowered a bit, she still looks wide-eyed just because of how they're set.
[ THE HAIR ]: Naturally, Shar's hair is dishwater blonde, straight, and not particularly impressive. Her dad made her dye it a few times when they were moving around, and like most kids when they first dye their hair, she was soon hooked. She dyes it constantly, and cuts it herself to save money. Her hair grows pretty quick, but if it's not as long as she wants it to be, she'll just buy extensions. She washes it sort of frequently, usually every other day. Her hair hasn't begun it's really greasy-teenagery stage, and she's thankful for that. At the moment it's about shoulder length and chocolate brown, with bangs. But she may be changing it up soon.
[ THE SMILE ]: A mildly moody girl, Shar doesn't just run around beaming at everything she sees. But she can get excited and happy about things, and when that happens her smile is bright and cheerful. It is one of the few things purely little-kidish about her. She brushes her teeth every day (well, most of the time) and her pearly whites are white and pearly. Which is good, because a dentist appointment is rare.
[ THE OTHER FACIAL STUFF ]: A little young for acne, Shar's face is clear and pale for someone who spends most of their time outside. She has small, thin pink lips that she licks when she gets nervous. Her face is heart-shaped, but besides these simple features there isn't mush remarkable about her. Which is great for her. She doesn't even look particularly feminine. If she pulls back her hair she can pass for a little boy. Follow that up with a pair of sunglasses, and she's completely unrecognizeable.
[ THE BUILD ]: Shar is petite for her age. She is slim of stature, and looks weaker and less coordinated than she really is. She actually has a good physique for a dancer, but she's too nervous on stage to do something like that. Her skin is pale, and her slender hands are surprisngly calloused for being so dainty looking. This, of course, comes from constant working with her hands outdoors, something she never grows tired of. Her long (compared to the rest of her body, that is) legs can carry her pretty far when running. Her feet look a little big for the stick-like appendages they're attached to, but that's because she usually wears shorts and then clunky army boots, which are bound with ducktape so they don't slip off. She's stepped on cacti enough to take pre-emptive measures against it.
[ THE HEIGHT ]: 5'2" (ish)
[ THE WEIGHT ]: 97 lbs
[ THE POSTURE ]: Shar has the posture you'd expect from a girl like her. Not exactly slouchy, but all of her body weight sinking into her heels. She tends to tuck in her shoulders more, which in body-language-land hints at feeling reserved and insecure. If confronted though, she squares up immediately and appears stronger and more abrassive. She likes to sit with one or both knees tucked up to her chest, and gets annoyed when asked to sit "like a lady" with her legs crossed politely. If asked, she'll sling the ankle of one foot over the knee of her other leg, crossing them "the boy way" without putting up a real fight. When sitting she really slouches, but when standing she's fairly straight.
[ THE CLOTHING ]:Charlotte is definately in the casual/practical realm of the wardrobe. She wears mostly sweat shirts over her t-shirt or tank top. She wears cargo pants/shorts or jeans, and only has two pairs of shoes: big, clunky army boots that she has to bind with duct tape do they'll be tight enough, and red hightops that are grungy and covered in a thin layer of dirt. A mild fan of baseball, she owns a couple baseball caps. But that's about it. She has one dress that she wears when she goes to church. Nothing very flashy.
[ THE HYGIENE ]: Shar hardly qualifies as self-conscious. Even when she's feeling shy or nervous, she doesn't pay attention to how she looks. She showers almost every-other day, and brushes her teeth more frequently than that. But her hair rarely even gets a runthrough with a comb, much less is styled. She has a two hair ties around her wrist at all times, in case she decides she wants to pull her hair back, but that is the closest thing to dolling herself up for Charlotte.
[ THE PARENTS ]: Robert Kinley: The dad. He has no career, instead he takes up easy jobs for a week or two before quitting or getting himself fired. Shar has an odd relationship with her dad. She used to adore him when she was little, and then when she was eight he left her mother after a huge fight and took her with him. Then their relationship turned sour, because he was a horrible single parent and she found a lot of different reasons to grow up resenting him. But in the past year or so, Charlotte has discovered how dependent her father is on her, and the responsability makes her feel important, and has done quite a bit to build up her love for him.
Luellen Hawkins: the mum. She used to be a very inspired artist, but she ended up becoming a bit of a sellout, making custom paintings for low prices in order to try and pay the bills. She became depressed, quiet, and reserved, and when Robert left her and told her he was taking Charlotte, all she did was shrug and continue staring out the window. This is why Charlotte dislikes her so much.
[ THE SIBLINGS ]: Blank Hawkins is only a year older than his sister, but they are far from close. They each grew up with different parents, and Charlotte blames him just as much for her leaving as she does her parents. She chooses not to remember how they were friends when they were little, and instead just focuses on the fact that he never tried to track her down. She doesn't like him, is obvious about it, and avoids him at all costs.
[ OTHER IMPORTANT RELATIONSHIPS ]: Charlotte and her father stayed with her Uncle Jimmy on his ranch in Montanna for six months. It was the longest she stayed in one place after they left home, and it was the only place they stayed that wasn't in Arizona or Texas.
[ IMPORTANT ANCESTRY ]: My character does not have important ancestry, soooo... yeah.

[ THE TRAITS ]:
~Shar delves into her fear a lot, because it helps her writing.
~She mostly writes adventure/horror/thriller stories that take place in the South/West
~Though she's afraid of a lot of things, she faces her fears well and is very brave
~She feels like her dad has done her wrong by sort of taking away her childhood, but she's loyal to him till the day she dies

~She's a little more direct than what is socially normal, and has made some enemies because of it
~She has the mouth of a little sailor, and sometimes forgets herself
~She's sarcastic and tends to be a smart aleck without meaning to be
~She's been in quite a few fights, and will find herself ready to scrap before the person she's fighting with is. (She'll also raise her fists at anyone, but is pretty good at toning it down around the A-dolts)
~Lots of Shar's characters in her books are based off of people she's met. So she observes people very carefully and is an okay judge of normal behavior because of it.
~She has no real comprehension of money, and is naturally a very not-greedy person
~Shar gets nervous around some people, and this causes her mouth to snap shut. But it doesn't happen all that often.
[ THE ULTIMATE GOAL ]: The ONE thing would to become an awesome, gunslinging cowgirl (disguised as a boy, of course) like in the movies she'd watch.
