Out in the Cold [Will] Empty Out in the Cold [Will]

Post  Audrey Catlett Sun Feb 08, 2009 1:47 pm

Audrey pushed her phone into the pocket of her jeans and pushed her way out of the music library. She had been trying to look for a new solo (the piece she had been working on got old and boring after a week, so she decided she wanted something better), but she couldn't focus on what she wanted. So she finally gave up. Deciding quickly that she wanted to hang out with someone she had looked through her contacts having reasons to not text most of them, but when she got to Will's name (the last name) she figured it was about time they hung out. She was getting tired of them making plans, but never going through with them. It was getting old and it needed to stop.

Now she headed out onto the freezing grounds and made her way down to the lake. She hadn't spent many hours down here this year, so she decided it was high time to do just that. Plus she needed to see Will. Bad, but that wasn't something she was willing to admit out loud. She reached the lake's edge and looked down at the frigid cold water. She was obviously stupid to decide to meet Will out here. It was freezing. Freezing even though she stood in jeans, two and a half pairs of socks (two on one foot three on the other), boots (that she was sure weren't her's), a long-sleeved shirt, a sweater AND her winter coat. How could it already be so cold? Right, she knew why. It was already December. Which reminded her...Christmas was coming up.

She fidgeted slightly, maybe she should of given him an option on whether or not he wanted to come out. He might of been busy. It wasn't like everyone had the time to just drop things and do something else. Yeah, maybe it was a saturday, and yeah it was after after dinner and way to early to go back to the dorm, but that didn't mean someone should drop everything and do something else. Plus, just her luck he'd come out here not wearing a jacket then he'd want to go in quickly. She frowned. Well wasn't she just smart. She plopped down onto the cold sand and laid back. What was she going to do if he didn't show up? She glared up at the grey deformed cloud that was above her.

Out in the Cold [Will] Empty Re: Out in the Cold [Will]

Post  Will Gates Tue Feb 17, 2009 10:16 am

Maybe it was because of his undeniable affection for Audrey Catlett. Maybe it was because he had smoked just one before coming out to meet her. Maybe it was because he was feeling ridiculously playful. Whatever the reason, Will Gates was in rare form as he practically bounced from the halls of Felicity into the cool night air, happily coat-less. This was not due to his desire to go in early -it had much more to do with the fact that his being chilly afforded him another reason to snuggle with pretty Miss Catlett. His mind reeled with glee at the thought as he moved swiftly across the grounds, eyes setting on a shadow near the lake. Will attempted to remove Jane's constant chides regarding their friend from his head and instead ignored it with a big smile, long legs moving him in minutes to where he was wanting to go. She was laid out on the cool grass, nearly blending in with her green coat, and he paused to admire her for a minute, sighing to himself. He was a crazy, crazy boy to not try harder for that...at least, he sometimes felt that way. Other times, he just wondered why she couldn't try harder for him. Mr. Gates cocked is head sideways before darting forward suddenly, diving into the grass and rolling on top of her, sitting on his needs and hands, rising above her with an adorable grin that he knew always had an affect on her. She was pretty. Like he could even forget.

"Hi, Audieeeee." He planted a kiss on her forehead and rolled off, on his back right next to her, turning his head to see her face. "You should take off that coat and let me keep you warm." He was joking. Except maybe not. Whatever. Will smirked and laughed a little at himself, putting his arms around his head and sighing again, staring up at the darkened sky dotted brilliantly with stars. He wondered if there was a star named Lysander, or Audrey, or Jane. Why the hell couldn't he just make one himself? He'd forget where it was the next evening, for sure...then there would be tons with their names because he'd just pick new ones. Will blinked -once, twice, before impulsively reaching over for her hand, kissing he back of it furtively before holding it to his chest. He was wild tonight, rearing for something exciting, something that he and Audie had given up a long time ago. Damn. Rolling to his side, he propped his head up on his elbow and kept her hand beneath his in the grass. "Look, we're hanging out!"

He winked and then swallowed, trying to control his frisky temper, which being slightly high made even more difficult, and just smiled at her. Yep, she was definitely really pretty. It made him warm all over just looking at her.

Out in the Cold [Will] Empty Re: Out in the Cold [Will]

Post  Audrey Catlett Tue Feb 17, 2009 11:05 am

Audie had watched the deformed cloud move across the sky. She had been in one of those rare moods where she was completely zoned and wasn't thinking of anything. Usually she had a million thoughts running through her head. New Key signature on a new piece. Homework. The other Senior girls. Movie nights. Will.

Audrey blinked a couple times. She was about to reach up and scratch her ear when someone landed on top of her. She gave out a slight squeak, looking up at her friend, who she hadn't seen in what seemed like ages. "Hey Will." After he had planted the kiss on her forehead she reacted automatically and kissed his cheek back. Nothing out of the ordinary. She usually did that every time she saw him. The only difference this time was that he was kneeling above her. She turned her head slightly watching him roll over and lay next to her. At his comment about the jacket she just smiled and answered simply "Maybe later."

When Will looked up, she followed his gaze. The stars were pretty, but she had been starring at them for the past five minute or so...and well. Stars don't move that fast, so the view was the same. However. The view on her right was considerably different. Instead of just grass and the old lake house, Will laid next to her. She though, decided not to look back over to her friend. He was the one that always made it clear they were still just friends right? It's wasn't her..right? Well. Okay. Honestly she knew she wasn't completely straight foreword with her thoughts either.

As Will reached for her hand, she was surprised. Actually. No. She wasn't. Well, god she was moody today. She just wrapped her fingers around his. Letting the natural easiness of it lead her. She felt himself shift to look at her again, so she tilted her head back towards him. She nodded at his statement about hanging out. "'Bout time we did. We suck at making plans huh?" She smiled and pushed herself more to be able to face him more comfortably. After a minute she reached out with her unoccupied hand and traced it along his coat-less arm softly. "Aren't you cold?"

Out in the Cold [Will] Empty Re: Out in the Cold [Will]

"Maybe later."

Okay, that was way better than no. Will just kept that smile, unable to wipe it from his face in the slightest, as she looked at him, then moved to mirror him in facing. Her question sounded far away when she asked it -he was busy being absorbed in her company. Audrey sucked him in like no other. After it finally registered in his brain he nodded, then shook his head chidingly. "We fail, for real." He waited before impulsively adding, "I missed you." The minute he opened his mouth he almost regretted it. Audie already knew his weakness for her, and she unknowingly capitalized upon it. No need to give her more ammunition, although he assumed that she missed him, too. Her fingers on his arm caught him off-guard enough that it sent a wave of happy warmth through him from the point of contact. Will lowered his eye lids slightly at her, trying to ignore the various urges he suddenly had -pulling her closer, kissing her (anywhere would suffice), saying something stupid. Damn. Why had he smoked one before coming out here? He couldn't think of a good reason right now, but maybe that was just because he couldn't think.

Suddenly slightly uncomfortable, he dropped her gaze for a moment to peer at their hands lying together on the grass. He wrinkled his nose and sighed, squeezing her fingers in the only manner of safe affection he knew. It wasn't anything new for him to be awkward around her -in fact, he was usually unfailingly awkward, but it didn't make it any less annoying for him when it happened. He lifted his hand from hers and brushed a strand of hair from her face, shaking his head at her question before dropping his hand back to hers. "Nope. I'm alright. I figured if I got cold I'd use you as my blanket." He offered her his usual, charming, lop-sided grin, his fingers subconsciously playing with hers. Will wanted a lot of things in that particular moment, none of which he thought he could have. It was nice to be near Audrey again. She calmed him in a strange way, a way that almost made him feel guilty for being an ass all the time.

"So did you have any special plans for this evening, pretty eyes?" He cocked his head slightly at her. "Or do I just get to lay here with you and star gaze?" He might have secretly meant something other than star-gazing, but whatever. Star-gazing was fun, too.

Out in the Cold [Will] Empty Re: Out in the Cold [Will]

Post  Audrey Catlett Wed Feb 18, 2009 8:27 am

Three words. Three words could be anything. I like chocolate was three words, but it didn't have the same meaning as the three words Will had just said. 'I missed you.' Yeah it wasn't like Audie didn't say it sometimes, but she usually just pulled the whole missed your face thing. And she figured Will missed her. If he didn't he wouldn't of showed up now huh? She thought for a quick second and just opened her mouth. "You missed me?" She leaned forward a fraction of an inch. "Well, your in luck. I think I might of missed you too." She knew without a doubt that Will would see past the whole 'might of' part of that sentence. If she didn't miss him she wouldn't of texted him telling her to get out here.

Feeling the easy awkward-ness pop up, she once again followed his gaze. Mirroring his movements were often easier then trying to think herself. With other people, other guys even, she was able to think just fine. It was just Will that made her brain mess up. His comment on using her as his blanket made her stomach do weird things, but she just smiled back and replied. "Use me as a blanket? How would that work?" She finally removed her hand from his arm and tilted her head, thinking about his question.

"Special plans? Actually I figured since we were so good at doing things spur of the moment, then we'd just go with the flow for the evening." Audrey smiled briefly before looking down. She..well was tired of what her and Will had now. They were friends. Friends that held hands, who missed each other just after a couple days, who texted a lot, who had all the same friends, like Jane. Audie looked back up into his deep blue eyes. She tried to figure out what he was thinking, but she wasn't a mind reader. She wished she was, but she wasn't. Instead she just had to do what she wanted. If he didn't like it, well...she'd deal with it when it happened.

She slowly pulled her hand out of his and brought it up to the side of his face. She knew she was going past the whole, we friends wall, but honestly, she wasn't sure she cared. She leaned in the rest of the way and kissed him lightly on the lips. Tentative. Just a peck. She wanted to see his reaction before anything else.

Out in the Cold [Will] Empty Re: Out in the Cold [Will]

Post  Will Gates Wed Feb 18, 2009 11:08 am

Will was tempted to show her exactly what he meant by the whole blanket thing, but shit damn he was trying to be a good boy. Jay's voice just kept repeating itself in his head over and over and over again -'don't hurt Audie, Will', 'don't go there if you don't mean it', yadda yadda yadda. It didn't exactly help that she had not-so-subtly leaned closer to him. He couldn't help but let his eyes fall to her rose petal lips, and he folded his for a moment to moisten them almost out of nervous habit before meeting her eyes fearlessly, admiring her long, golden lashes as she blinked and they splayed over her skin for that meager moment. He found himself very much lost in his thoughts before she spoke again, and he zoned back in, smiling at her comment. "Going with the flow is right up my alley." His voice surprised him -it had lost some playfulness in favor of something deeper and more human, most likely as a result of how close she'd gotten in the past minutes.

Oh, this was hard. His eyes kept darting to her mouth, and he kept telling himself no. No, no, no. Don't put Audrey in this situation, Will. She didn't like it last time, Will. Audrey is too good for this, Will. He thought about just blurting out everything he was feeling all of a sudden, telling her why he was feeling so awkward, despite the intuition that she already knew, but couldn't. He didn't want Audie to shrink from him because he was so attracted to her, so tempted by her. He wanted her to stay just out of his reach so that he could still enjoy her company and the warmth she gave him without feeling guilty. Not that he felt guilty most of the time. He was notorious for having no guilt whatsoever, and that definitely didn't exclude his dealings with Audrey Catlett. For some reason, though, looking into her eyes while it felt like she was practically begging him to just kiss her, and while he was desperately trying to resist, he felt just a little bit guilty for not being able to give her was she wanted...and deserved, really.

When her hand cradled his face, he knew very suddenly that all of his resistance wasn't going to be enough. Her tentative touch to his lips was so soft that it made every hair on his body stand in goosebumps of pleasure. She was so innocent compared to him. He'd already had a hand in ruining a little of that, but right now, that didn't matter at all. He looked at her very seriously, his eyes still soft, when she pulled away, as though asking her if she really wanted to deal with him again, but it only lasted mere seconds before he cradled her face and wrapped his other arm around her, pulling her slender figure flush against him, his thumb tracing her lower lip before he closed the now even smaller gap between them and put his mouth on hers. Will knew Audrey well enough to start slow, to ease into it. He let her relax into his kiss before deepening it, his hand sliding into her hair. Every nerve ending in him was on fire just because of who it was -he was so damn attracted to Audie that one kiss was more than enough to set him in high gear. Will kept reminding himself in those seconds of intimacy that she was not Eloise, or Rea, or Isabelle -she was an entirely different kind of girl. His hand slid slowly down to the small of her back, resisting the urge to undo the buttons on her coat so that he could be even closer to her, and ended the kiss reluctantly, putting his forehead against hers. "Are you cold?" He smiled, rubbing her back affectionately.

Out in the Cold [Will] Empty Re: Out in the Cold [Will]

Post  Audrey Catlett Thu Feb 19, 2009 8:22 am

Being close to Will was, in all honestly, one of the things she missed most about him. Yeah, she missed him a lot in general, but the feeling of being close was better than just talking. (Really better then when they talk about things that need to be said, but are just weird) After pulling away from him, she wasn't sure what his reaction would be. Usually, it was Will that took the first more to close the distance between them, but she was tired of waiting. Tired of pretending she didn't like it. When he looked at her, plainly asking if she did want this, she would of nodded, but it wasn't necessary. He was already pulling her close to him. She held his gaze, letting her eyes slowly lower as he traced her lower lip. After what seemed like ages, he finally closed the space, and Audie gave an involuntary shiver before placing her hand on the back of his neck, barely touching the tips of his hair. It was comfortable and she probably wouldn't change what was happening even if she had a chance. Plus she wasn't thinking right. The only thing her brain would register was every little movement he did. His hand moving down her back, the slight tilt of his head while his lips were pressed against hers. It was nice. Not over thinking everything. Not getting over worked up just because of a kiss.

When he ended the kiss, far to quickly than she would of wanted, she kept her eyes close. She needed to calm her racing heart before she opened her eyes, or he would be able to use the fact that he got to her so easily to his advantage. Him knowing that he got to her was not something she wanted to happen. Though calming her head wasn't easy. It didn't help much considering his forehead was still against hers (but she was not going to pull farther away. Nope), his hand was still rubbing her back, and they were still close. Closer then they have been in a while. She was not going to ruin that. But he decided to ask a question, so she slowly let it register before she opened her eyes.

She took a small breath and tried to think about his question. Was she cold? That was a good question. A normal question. A question she wasn't sure what the answer was. She laughed slightly. "Cold? It depends." She smiled to herself and she knew she was probably confusing him. She would have to explain what she meant. "I'm not entirely cold. Warm, like butter on bread, because of this.." She traced her hand from his neck down to his back and pulled him a tad bit closer. "But yeah. It's cold. I mean, it's in the middle of December." She smiled slightly before realizing again that he was probably colder than she was. "Are you cold?" She paused just briefly debating on whether or not she wanted to say the next part, but she decided she didn't really mind. "I'm sure I could keep you warm if you were."

Out in the Cold [Will] Empty Re: Out in the Cold [Will]

Post  Will Gates Fri Feb 27, 2009 6:21 am

Perhaps it was because Will wasn't exactly sober, but all of the mechanisms he had developed to protect Audrey from his playboy ways were not exactly functioning. He would much rather have blamed it on the fact that she had responded to him without hesitation, and seemed not the slightest bit fazed by his mindless approach to affection at all. Apparently, he wasn't the only one with a weakness. Will lifted his head and kissed her forehead, letting his lips linger on her skin for a moment as she answered his question and goose bumps rose along the trail her finger left. He giddily noted that there was no space left between them, now -her chest and stomach were moving with his as they breathed. It was a strange, pleasant feeling, like swimming in warm water. Slipping on of his legs between hers, he drew back from her forehead and couldn't help but lower his mouth to hers again, this time allowing his lips to linger over hers lightly, like a feather testing the air. A moment later, he nudged them open slightly and fit his mouth around her lower lip, nibbling gently.

He couldn't hide the slow smile on his lips as he parted from her again, one of his hands lifting to brush her hair from her face as he attempted to keep it from going elsewhere. Will found his voice again, however low it was at the moment, as he hand strayed back down from her head, over her shoulder, down her arm, to her lower back, the rise of her hips. It rested there as he spoke. "I'm not cold at all." It was the truth. He was as warm as he could be with her there, snuggled up next to him. "And you're already keeping me warm." Jay flashed through his thoughts for a moment, a warning look on her face, but he ignored them. She didn't have anything to say about this, not right now. Audrey was fine, they were fine. This was nice. "If you get too chilly I'll take you inside." His eyes were heavy with affection as he slipped is other arm under her to pull her mouth to his again. This talking thing, while not a bad idea, he thought, was distracting him from what he really wanted to do, which, of course, was to kiss her. He hadn't kissed her in what felt like ages. Until a few minutes ago, anyway. Every sense in his body was sky-rocketing as she responded to him. Will very suddenly forgot about the mechanism. He was going to make out with Audrey Catlett. The boy smiled into her mouth, the hand on her hip sliding to her face and tilting it for a better angle. He paused for a moment simply to speak against her mouth. "I think I'll keep you warm."

Out in the Cold [Will] Empty Re: Out in the Cold [Will]

Post  Audrey Catlett Wed Mar 04, 2009 9:06 am

Audrey wasn't sure what was really going on with her and Will. She figured that it was just the time spent away from each other that led to them be like this. Under any other circumstances she knew that they would of just talked and hung out. Usually like they did at homecoming. Homecoming had been normal. Nothing had happened. They talked, danced a little, hung out with friends. Nothing happened. But now, it seemed like they didn't care. She wasn't sure how long it would last this time, but she would figure that out later. Plus, she didn't really want it to stop, but if she let Will know she wanted more, he'd just pull away faster. And did she hate it when he pulled away, hated it as much as she hated when she broke a reed, if not more.

Audie placed her hand on his waist as he slipped one of his legs between hers. She looped one of her fingers through one of the belt loops on his jeans. She didn't want him pulling away, not that she expecting him to anytime soon. He was obviously making it clear he was happy where he was. One of her fingers slipped as it brushed across bare skin under his shirt, not something she had planned, but something she didn't mind either. She let her mouth follow his, not really thinking to much about it, just going with what happens.

She made a small noise in the back of her throat at his comments, she wasn't sure if she wanted to keep talking, though as soon as she really fully registered what he said, she had to reply. "You're doing a good job keeping me warm" She spoke softly, smiling along with his smiles. She placed her lips back against his, keeping the kisses going, but still wanting to smile, talk, whatever. "I might not be needing my jacket much longer." She let her fingers once again brush the sliver of bare skin by his jeans. Only this time it wasn't accidental. The feel of him was nice, good, though it was definitely something she could never fully get use to. It would always be something new, something different.

Out in the Cold [Will] Empty Re: Out in the Cold [Will]

Post  Will Gates Thu Mar 05, 2009 12:41 pm

The groan that fell from Will's lips into her kisses as cold, soft fingers slipped over his skin was instantaneous and completely involuntary. He wanted her to forgo the teasing, except not, because he loved it. It wanted her to slide those pretty little fingers down his jeans and do something very unlike Audie -except he didn't. One of the things he loved about her so damn much was that innocence, and as badly as he wanted to ruin it in times such as these, he wanted to enjoy it, savor it, and revel in it even more. Will hadn't been innocent since he was fourteen -at least, not in the way that Audrey was. He wondered quietly if she could feel him getting more and more excited, or if she even knew how to pay attention to that. Fortunately for him, however, he had very little time to wonder about anything. Her words prompted him to reach for the zipper of her jacket and slide it down her slender form, his hand not hesitating in diving beneath it to slide down her side and up her shirt. He let his cool skin rest against her heated torso before moving his fingers over her back, then to her stomach, then to the edge of her jeans where he drew a finger just under the fabric and along her hip bones. His mind was racing with imaginative thoughts and ideas, and his mouth had a brain all it's own, kissing her sweetly and loosely, letting her come to him before he took control and deepened the kiss, rolling suddenly to pin her under him, leg still nestled between hers, one hand bracing so that he didn't crush her and the other wrapped around her upper body from within her jacket to keep her as close as possible.

"In the interest -"Kiss. "- of wanting you to take off that jacket-" Kiss. "-and me wanting to take off my shirt-" Kiss. "-I wouldn't mind finding somewhere warmer for us to relax." Will kissed her again, letting his tongue do the talking for a brief moment as it slid fleetingly over her lower lip. He smiled down at her, impossibly charming, and then rolled so that she was on top and he could wrap both of his arms around her tightly. "My room?"

She was impossibly beautiful under the stars, as she was now, with the night sky the backdrop to that auburn hair and pretty fair skin. Will's smile fell into a serious gaze of admiration now, and he stroked her hair from her face to kiss her again, trying not to think of all of the things that his not so innocent self wanted to do to Audie Catlett.

Out in the Cold [Will] Empty Re: Out in the Cold [Will]

Post  Audrey Catlett Fri Mar 06, 2009 8:14 am

As Audie felt Will's cold hands against her so much warmer skin, she shivered slightly, before sighing into his kisses. The little voice in the back of her mind had just started telling her to be careful, telling her that Will was probably going to pull away and stop talking to her after this, but the more dominant voice was telling her to trust him. Trust him. Trust Will? Audrey pulled her finger out of his belt loop before placing her whole hand under his shirt, against his side. She couldn't remember the last time she had actually made out with someone like this. To be honest it would probably would of had to of been with Will before the school had let out for summer. Man was that sad. She pushed herself into the on going kiss a little more, feeling slightly light headed, but not really minding it. It felt good. Nice. She was slightly tired of people always referring to her when they talked about the 'innocent' people. Though she wasn't really sure why it really bothered her. She knew she wasn't completely innocent. If she was she wouldn't be laying next to Will right now. Though she did know that when people said stuff like that, they were referring to the fact that she just so happened to still be a virgin, but that wasn't a big deal. It wasn't like everyone was out having sex. She then realized she was having these thoughts while she was so happily kissing Will Gates. What had made her think stuff like that now? She internally rolled hey eyes at herself. She was so weird.

Finally pulling herself out of her thoughts, she found herself underneath Will, she listened and kissed him back as he talked. She found his words and the tone he stated them to be slightly ironic. He's laying above her talking about taking off articles of clothing in a business sounding way. His tongue tracing her bottom lip pulled her out of her thoughts. She let her lips catch his tongue for a brief second, before Will decided he wanted her on top. She laid her right arm on the ground just above his head, slightly self conscious of squishing him, she ran her fingers through his hair at the top of his head and left her hand there. Meanwhile she listened as he suggested his room. His room? She was about to say that, that might not be a good idea, but when her eyes caught his blue ones, all she saw was serious and not messing around looking back at her. Which caught her slightly off guard. She hadn't really been expecting it. He wanted to spend time with her, not just to get into her pants (as far as she could tell), but to really spend time with her. Just not only outside in the freezing cold. Her lips met his, in the soft kiss, before answering him. "Sure. Good idea." She smiled, before letting her fingers trace his side, where she let just the tips of her fingers curl under the waistband of his jeans. It wasn't much, but she knew it was just enough to get his attention. She wasn't sure what she wanted to happen, but she made the decision right there that she wasn't going to leave Jane in the dark. She didn't want this to be like every other time where Jane figured it out on her own. Audrey was going to tell her best friend that she hung out with Will.
