history: Saffron's been under Mr. Chalmette's wing ever since she can remember- it's seemed to be that long. She totally respects him and his expertise, but they have their artistic differences, and Saffron will fight hard for a grade she thinks she deserves so it can sometimes mean that the dukes go up in defense. When that happens, they don't seem to be quite so cool. But most of the time, she's just fine.
what you think of luke: "He's a cool guy, this Chalmette guy, just needs to listen to me a bit more I think. Like that one project we had last year, the food one- I'm tellin' ya, I really think it was my artistic privilege to take the food aspect to a new level by photographing no food and calling my project 'Anorexia.' Durrh. Anorexics don't eat Mr. C!!! But ah-nooo, no food meant no A 'cuz it was supposed to be about food. Well poo to you."

history: After first meeting Lucas Chalmette for the first time at the beginning of the year, and finding out he came from Louisiana, she began talking to him. In her spare time, whenever they are both in the staff room or in the corridors, they talk for a while. They grew to good friends, although they don't share everything, they don't find a need but they've had a few random conversations on top of a few serious teacher one's and those normal friendly 'acquaintance' chats. Mai has seen some of his art and was truly amazed by it all, she thought it was very impressive.
what you think of luke: "Luke is amazing. If I had half the talent he did, the things I could create. Of course, he's not that much of an athlete, but he's a great laugh and I enjoy talking with him. We've had a ton of random conversations about ...weird stuff and then we've just spoken to each other about back home. He's a good friend and I'm glad he came to Harriman!"

history: Spicer and Luke teach together, so they've obviously run into each other before. In their first encounter Spicer was all ready to dislike him, what with his perfect hair and easy smile, but his quirkiness and easy air won her over very quickly.
what you think of luke: "Lucas is, at the risk of sounding cliche, a laugh and a half. He's incredibly unusual, which is something I find refreshing in a world full of people trying to be somebody else. I tend to be wary of the men that teach along side of me, mostly for the fact that unpleasant 'situations' tend to arise between coworkers if they aren't too careful. I must say, though, Lucas gave me absolutely no time to be wary before launching into an elaborate and hilarious conversation about his time spent in New Orleans. He catches me completely off guard most of the time, and I find his unpredictability to be one of his best traits. He is indeed one of my better friends amongst my colleagues, and though our subjects have little in common I always try to find ways to strike up conversations with him about something or other. He is also a wonderful companion out on the town, even if the young women do have a tendency to follow him around like puppies..."
