Collaborate, Commemorate, CELEBRATE! [Darnie cloooosed]

Darnell was lost in his mind for a little bit again. Imagining that little apartment with its decorative plants, his equipment, Abi's equipment, Abi there... he wanted her there... He shook his head softly, breaking from his daydreams. He didn't know exactly where they'd be going after they left Harriman- all he knew was they were going- and they were going together. He wouldn't let her go now, he was done with that.

He smiled mischievously at Abi. Did she really think that he brought her out there to get work done? She could be so naive at times. Sweet, innocent little Abigail Applebottom, paired up with dark and brooding Darnie Allred. The nice girl, who always smiled and did polite things like say please, with the bad boy who got totaled his first car drunk driving and smoked like a chimney. Oh, crap, he shouldn't have thought about cigarettes. It was like thinking about really moist browned turkey while stuck starving on a desert island, except instead of making a mouth water, it did other stuff- for Darnie- his hands tended to shake. He reached into his pocket, grabbed a tin of TicTacs, popped a couple in his mouth. His new addiction.

"Yeah, Abs, we're definitely done working," he chuckled, chewing on the orange flavored breath mints. TicTacs dissolved, Darnie leaned in and kissed Abi. "Where do you want to go now... if you want to go anywhere at all?"

Abi was comfortable leaning on Darnell, a light chuckle trickled through her she smelled the strong orange from the tic tacs. "Which one's your favourite?" Abi asked, spotting the green and orange sweets. She was partial to the mint ones herself. It made her shudder as she thought about oranges, as soon as he leaned in and kissed her Abi pushed him back. Tasting the orange in her mouth, "EW! Darnie! GROSS!!!" She looked as if she was trying to get rid of the horrible orange taste in her mouth. It reminded her so much of the disgusting orange peel, that would be worse though. Still! Orange. Yuck.

She sniffed, still smelling the strong scent in the air, Abi ignored it. It wasn't that terrible. Abi wouldn't move, although it was sort of annoying not being able to kiss him now. "I want" She took in a breath, tilting her head, towards his head "to stay here" She slid closer, whatever the nasty oranges smelled like, meh lying sitting together was much better. Ok. Weird thought! Abi kissed his cheek, "We have to go" She muttered, not wishing to move. Except, they had to really. Soon enough, lessons would finish and people would crowd the halls, obviously wondering why the two were sitting like that together.

This sucked... orange TicTacs apparently. Darnie had dragged Abi into the hallway so that they'd have a librarian-free are to sit together and talk and... oh forget it- he wanted to kiss her, gosh darn it. So being pushed back annoyed and scared him for two reasons. First of all "EWW! Darnie! GROSS!!!" was extremely vague, and didn't give him any reason not to think that she was pushing him away for being gross, rather than just chewing gross TicTacs. It took him a moment to register the fact that she hated oranges, and therefore it was the TicTacs, not him. But in that moment, his face contorted into a sort of horrified confusion. Then it hit him. Then after that he was just annoyed. More with himself for not remembering. And a little at Abi for not just sucking it up and kissing him anyway. Dang.

"Ugh, we need to get you past this orange thing..." he pouted.

His mood was lifted only a little bit by Abi's want to stay right where they were- and for a moment, he thought that maybe she'd let him kiss her after all. But then came the second part. His pout returned.

"Fine..." He sighed. "I guess I should go wash my mouth out with soap or something now... buy some new TicTacs, too..." He chuckled, standing up and pulling her to her feet. He stared oddly at her lips. "Wait... you have something- it's right..." he pointed to her bottom lip. "It's really small... right..." he leaned forward as though trying to look and see what it was. Quickly he pushed forward and kissed her, "Hah- gotcha!" He laughed as he pulled away, his bag in one hand and hers in the other; ready to run off before students came piling in to witness the two's short rendezvous.

"'This orange thing' is perfectly logical!" She insisted, as he pouted at her. She felt a little guilty for pushing him away like that but there was no way she was going to even give him a tiny kiss with orange stuff in his mouth. It was disgusting! She tried not to laugh as he suggested he wash his mouth out, folding her arms Abi shifted as he stood up. Reaching up her arms and being pulled up too, she was about to pick up her stuff when he bent down and picked it all up for her. About to thank him, Abi frowned at his odd expression. She had something on her face?

Why did he not tell her? Had it been there earlier? How long!?!? How embarrasing. Her cheeks flushed crimson and she was about to yell at him for not telling her earlier when suddenly, his face was right in front of hers and he had kissed her. Tangy orange. Lovely. Before she could even engage in a response he had sprinted off right when the doors began opening and students began filing out. Realising he still had her bags, Abi ran towards him, spotting his head in the distance. He began slowing down, Abi smiled and quickly placed her hands on either side of his shoulders and jumping onto him piggy back style. "Now you've got a little something too" Abi flicked his ear, her knees tightening around him, while her arms held on tightly to his shoulders.

"Don't do that again!" She carefully slid off of him, trying to glare without laughing.

Darnell of course was laughing hysterically all the way outside. In the midst of said hysterics, he felt this sort of... sixth sense, if you will. It was some sort of ESP, yelling out, WATCH OUT SHE'S RIGHT BEHIND YOU!!!

Suddenly, his ESP came true. Someone- guess who- really, try- had just jumped onto his back, and flicked his ear!!

"Ow!" he called out within laughter that never seemed as though it would ever end. Just the look on her face had been priceless. She really didn't like oranges... it might actually be fun to slip a TicTac in every now and then to shake things up. She'd be surprised every time, he was sure.

While she was still on his back, he spun around a couple of times, having set down all their stuff beneath a nearby tree. He clutched to her legs around his waist and went running in circles- it was a good work out, actually, when he thought about it.

It wasn't long before he slowed and she slid down. He turned and stood in front of her. "Of course," he pouted. "You hurt my ear..."
