Make Photos Not War [[Open - Surprise Saffie!]]
Saffron loved the dark room. She loved the glow of the red lights over her skin, and soft swish of the chemicals that would bring her pictures to brilliant life, and the safety of the dark. She could only see enough to get what she needed to get done, done. Besides that, her iPod was plugged in and blasting into her right ear; her hips swayed just slightly to the sound of Paramore, crushcrushcrush-ing in her head.
She'd just taken a few really sweet looking angle pictures, architectural really; odd perspectives of an iron fence she saw on campus, a few looking up at some glass windows, and another of the sidewalk cracks, and a leaf stuck in them. Basic stuff, she didn't know why she was so intent on getting the images ready, she'd probably just post them up on her blog or on the wall of her room, that is, the room she shared with Sophia.
In any case, there Saffie was, swaying side to side as she developed the pictures with the utmost of care, feeling completely alone- but that was okay. This was truly the last place she'd expect anyone to pop up in.

Re: Make Photos Not War [[Open - Surprise Saffie!]]
Kaylor paused at the closed door of the dark room. She'd never entered the room before, since she wasn't a student of any of the photography classes. However, another student had told her rather apologetically that he'd borrowed one of her clay figurines to do prints in the back. She hadn't entirely understood what he'd meant, but the message was pretty clear. He'd left the figurine in the room. Which meant she had to go and collect it. It wasn't finished, after all. Though it had recently come out of the kiln, it still needed to be painted and Kaylor was determined to get it done by the end of the day. However, she paused now, at the door. It was closed, which meant the dark room was in use.
Hmm...This caused a dilemma, she needed to get inside, but she didn't want to ruin another person's work. She'd heard from one of her classmates in her painting class that there was a room that separated the dark room from the bright lights of the hallway, to better protect the contents with in. She wasn't sure if she wanted to test this theory and be proven wrong, but she really needed her figurine. So, knocking on the door to warn anyone within that she was entering, she took a deep breath and pulled the door open a crack. Complete and utter darkness met her gaze. Pulling the door wider still, she found that the rumor she'd heard was true. Making note of the door on the other side of the perhaps three food long room, she stepped inside and carefully closed the outer door behind her.
Reaching out blindly and carefully making her way forward, she pushed the inner door open and found herself in a dimly lit room. So this is what the dark room looked like...She'd always wondered if the movies portrayed this sacred place correctly. They seemed to do a pretty good job. Closing the door behind her, she leaned against it and waited for her eyes to adjust. She could see the vague shape of another person in the room. "Hello?"

Re: Make Photos Not War [[Open - Surprise Saffie!]]
Saffie nearly jumped out of her skin as she heard the knock on the door. What was this, a scary movie? Was someone- or something- with a huge axe or butcher knife just waiting to get her in a dark creepy corner? Was she doomed to be cut into little teeny pieces in the one room that she felt the most comfortable in?
The knocking stopped, and she held her breath... She knew she shouldn't have had that scary movie marathon the night before she left for Harrison- but ohh no, her friends just had to convince her that it was okay- she could handle it. It'd be fun! Psssshhh. Chyeah. It was loads of fun to be frightened to death in the dark room.
The door opened, and Saffron considered throwing the little bottle of who-knew-what towards the sound. But she thought twice, and good thing too, because soon the door had closed and a little Hello? could be heard.
"Helloo?" She turned and strained her eyes to make out the figure of the person who'd just entered. "Who goes there?" She laughed. "I've always wanted to say that..."

Re: Make Photos Not War [[Open - Surprise Saffie!]]
A answering 'Hello?' met Kaylor's ears and she froze. What was she expecting? Of course there was someone in here, she'd determined that earlier, before she'd even knocked. Hello? Why else would she have knocked? In any case, some part of her had not entirely expected an answer. Especially not an echoing 'Hello?' So, she wasn't sure how to respond. What does one say when both people in the room had asked the same thing?
And then the other person, whoever it was, continued. As she spoke, Kaylor recognized the voice. Saffron, Gee's crush. The question, almost medieval in age, made Kaylor laugh as well. "To be honest, I've sort of wanted to say that too. It's just Kaylor, Saffron. I didn't mean to interrupt."
Cautiously, she took a step into the seemingly impenetrable darkness. "I can't see anything. My eyes seem to be having a hard time adjusting. I came back here to collect one of pieces that a classmate used for something photography-related."

Re: Make Photos Not War [[Open - Surprise Saffie!]]
Saffie laughed softly as Kaylor explained herself. The nauseousness went away, and she realized that there was no blood-thirsty axe murderer after her! It was just Kaylor! Silly goose... unless... unless Kaylor was a blood-thirsty axe murderer! Eeep! Oh... but that was crazy... unless... unless it wasn't really Kaylor but the blood-thirsty axe murderer in her body!!!! EEP!
"Oh don't worry about it. And yeah- it takes some getting used to. Even a pro like myself needs some adjusting when I come in here," she laughed as she spoke. She didn't really consider herself anywhere near a pro. That's why half the time she ruined her photos before they were even taken out of the Dark Room. She wasn't really good with the whole chemical mixing thing. Her eyes adjusted however, she was very good at seeing things. She turned and saw something a little out of the ordinary. "Is this is? This... uh... clay thingie?" She smiled nervously in the dark- hoping it wasn't offensive that she didn't know exactly what it was. "Here ya go," she put her hand forward to hand the object off.
