Casualties were numbered at as many as twenty Iraqistanis, as well as three American soldiers, and thirty of both parties wounded. Maine to Pass Bill for Heavy Budget Cuts; Sports, Arts Suffer
» "Maine has been following the precedent set by several other United States school boards and has been cutting funding significantly to schools, especially for fine arts programs. While this mostly affects public schools, it will also affect a small number of private and magnet schools that receive fundings, grants, and scholarships for students from the government."

After instructing Jay, her new stage sister (and natural blonde, that lucky beeyotch), to meet her at Belle's Beauty Shop, Isabelle had thrown on a jacket over her t-shirt and faded jeans, grumbling lightly. It wasn't that she minded dying her hair blonde, she'd done it before after all, it was just that it was such a hassle, and so much easier to bitch all the way down to Chamberlain than accept it.

Climbing up onto her blue crotch rocket, Isabelle pulled the helmet she'd been carrying under her arm up over her hair and pulled the face mask down. It wasn't the most fashionable piece of headgear, but safety first, especially when you didn't legally get your license for another few days.

The ride to Belle's took maybe seven minutes, most of it country road to get down from the school to Chamberlain. A little way's down Main Street and she was parking in front of the flowery pink beauty shop, pulling her helmet off and shaking out her long dark brown locks (not for much longer!).

Grumbling still, Isabelle moved into the parlor, glancing over her shoulder for Jane. If the upperclassman's obnoxious yellow truck was already there she missed it, and with a shrug she moved to the front desk where the Shop's very owner was sitting gabbing loudly with a girl next to her. Izz cleared her throat, leaning on the counter impatiently.

"Isabelle!" The woman called out in her tinkling beauty queen voice, and Izz smiled back in turn, accepting silently the use of her full name.

"Belle, I need a dye," she said, frowning and pouting her lips out like a child, "Mr. Butler says I have to go blonde for the musical. I know, right?"

Belle was frowning with her and reached out, cradling a bit of her brown hair affectionately. "Well, it won't look awful, but it's just not you honey..." she said, distracted, gnawing on her lip thoughtfully, "but I suppose if your director says you must, then you must..."

Belle herself led Isabelle to a chair, disappearing to a back room for a moment before returning with stacks of foil, bowls, brushes and bottles of chemical. Isabelle had dyed her hair a few times before, and was no stranger to the process. With a begrudging sigh of defeat she slumped a little in her seat, watching Belle clip segments of her long hair up before pouring the chemicals together to make a perfect light blonde.

When the hell was Jay going to get there?! She'd given her plenty of time!

Jay had been feeling giddy ever since the cast list had appeared pinned up to Harriman's bulletin board. It was her normal reaction to being given a part that she had really hoped to get but not been entirely sure she would. It was not a horrible feeling, but the fact that she hadn't had anything constructive to do since she'd seen her name up on the list was making her giddiness something she could hardly deal with. She was utterly excited to get things started, but there wasn't much she could do at the moment except for dragging Micah, Will, and Audie into the auditorium to watch White Christmas with her. She hadn't entirely nixed that idea yet, but she was pretty sure it would only add to her giddiness. Until rehearsals started, Jay was sure to be bouncing off of Harriman's walls.

Jay was ecstatic when she got Izz's text, which gave her something to focus her increased energy on. Getting to fawn over Izz's new hair color (which was obviously going to be gorgeous, even if Izz was already a gorgeous brunette) and to chat to Izz about the musical would be an absolute lifesaver. Jay thought that Izz was the exact perfect person to be playing her theatrical sister, and spending more time with her (which wouldn't be very hard at all once rehearsals started) would be a great way to sync up their performances. She texted her back right away, then threw a big black sweater over her black and white shirt-dress thing and the black jeans she had under it. She slipped her phone into her pocket and practically ran out of the building and to her car. Her lovely truck was bone-cold when she first stepped in, but after a couple of minutes of letting her beauty of a car warm, up the heater kicked in and made her nice and toasty. She was almost sad that the drive to Belle's wasn't all that far. Oh well, maybe Izz would go on an adventure with her afterward. Or at least to Red Robin or something.

Jay bounced happily in the comfy, re-upholstered seats of her bright yellow truck all the way into Chamberlain, then parked the massive thing in a spot in front of Belle's, a couple of spaces away from Izz's cycle. She slipped her keys into the back pocket of her jeans and hopped out of the truck, giving it a loving pat before she headed into the salon.

She spotted Izz sitting beside Belle and an absolute plethora of beauty products. She waved at the mirror Izz was sitting behind, then rushed over and sat in the salon seat beside her. "Oh man, I can't believe you're going blond!" she said, resulting in an understanding glance from Belle. "It's going to be wonderful, but it was a little harsh of Butler to demand it, huh." She grinned at Izz and her beautiful hair, trying to picture it blonde. "Well, what are your thoughts on the matter, mizz Izz?" she asked, leaning forward in her chair, elbows resting on her knees.
