Pop! Goes The Cherry
»"Oh, WG, have you really know decency? This is kind of old news, but it looks like IC might have paid off a few people, like the true politician’s daughter that she is, to keep this little gem on the hush hush. But oh, IC, IC, don’t you know that nothing is safe from me?"

Oh, Baby, Baby!
»"Hey Harrimaners, sorry for my brief abscence, but I’ve been just too busy trying to keep track of all the gossip in this school to even be able to write about it! But this little piece of news was just TOO good for even a busy bee like me to pass up."

»"Yet another car bomb went off in Iraqiranistan at approximately 3 PM this afternoon. Casualties were numbered at as many as twenty Iraqistanis, as well as three American soldiers, and thirty of both parties wounded. A statement has not been issued by the army as to the potential terrorists, but WNB is willing to guesstimate that Tyler Durden + Sack Of Mothballs = Big Explosion"

Maine to Pass Bill for Heavy Budget Cuts; Sports, Arts Suffer
» "Maine has been following the precedent set by several other United States school boards and has been cutting funding significantly to schools, especially for fine arts programs. While this mostly affects public schools, it will also affect a small number of private and magnet schools that receive fundings, grants, and scholarships for students from the government."

{{this is Eev's second character, if that is allowed. also, could you get rid of the L. in her name? I created 'Deidre Spicer' with an email that had apparently been deactivated Razz }}

GENERAL INFORMATION

[ THE FULL NAME ]: Deidre Louise Spicer
[ THE NICKNAMES ]: Dee, Spicer, Spice, Feminazi
[ THE BIRTHDAY ]: January 12th, 1970

[ THE RESUME ]: For two and a half years, before she got divorced from her husband, Spicer spearheaded a radical new theater program as an AP Literature teacher at John Marshall High School in Seattle. When the divorce was finalized, she realized that she wanted to go somewhere that would truly appreciate her artistic talents. Harriman was her first arts school teaching position, and her first choice for that matter. As soon as she’d decided to find a top of the line art school to teach at, she did extensive research of high-end artistic schools throughout the United States. Having had extensive experience as a working actress, Masters degrees in both Fine Arts and Literature, and pretty much telling the administration flat out that she was the absolute best person for the job and would not take no for an answer, she was hired into Harriman seven years ago.

LOOKS, LOCKS, AND LEGS

Spicer, Deidre - Theater Lit. Teacher Kate-walsh-eric-dane-021

[ THE PLAYED-BY ]: Walsh, Kate

[ THE EYES ]: Spicer's eyes are almond-shaped and turned up slightly at the outside corners. They're an olive-brown color and go well with the dark earth tones that Spicer likes to wear. Her left eye is slightly larger than her right one, but she enjoys it. She believes that the lack of symmetry to her face makes her look like a real person, not just "some pretty face on paper".
[ THE HAIR ]: Spicer's hair is currently a bright copper mixed with mousy brown, though it's been dark brown in the past and most likely will be again. It curls loosely at the bottom, but other than that it has very little volume to it. It isn't unusual for Spicer to forget to brush her hair in the rush to get everything together for class, and as a result it tends to be in varying stages of disarray. The fact that she often gets her glasses tangled up in her hair only adds to the messiness. She tends not to style it, but once in a while she will straighten out the bottom or pull it all back into a messy ponytail.
[ THE SMILE ]: Having been interested in theater from a young age, and having a mother who vehemently supported such interests, Spicer was given braces as a young girl. She now has a perfectly straight and pearly white smile, though she tends not to broadcast her smile as widely as some of the students do. She is more prone to smirking, or smiling with her lips closed.
[ THE OTHER FACIAL STUFF ]: Spicer can usually be found wearing one of several pairs of rimmed glasses, and there's a characteristic indentation on the bridge of her nose from having worn glasses most of her life. She has a strong jawline which becomes even more noticeable when she clenches her teeth. She usually does so when she is angry or is trying to control herself.

[ THE BUILD ]: Spicer is a little on the stringy side, a trait she inherited from her father. She is thin because she is very conscious of what she eats. She isn't very fond of exercising, however, so she has very little muscle tone.
[ THE HEIGHT ]: 5'7''
[ THE WEIGHT ]: 142 lbs
[ THE POSTURE ]: In the classroom, Spicer is an imposing figure. She walks with her back board-straight, shoulders back, and chin high. Behind her desk, however, she can usually be found slouching comfortably with a cup of yogurt in her hand.

[ THE CLOTHING ]: By far, Spicer's staple color is black. She usually mixes it with reds and earth tones in patterned blouses, but it is very rare for her to wear an outfit with no black tones at all. Despite her highly feminist attitude, Spicer is fond of long peasant skirts. She trades her skirts off with black slacks, and on the whole her outfits are usually comfortable and subdued. On her feet, Spicer nearly always wears some style of gladiator sandals or flats, valuing comfort above the height advantage of heels. When Spicer dresses up for an occasion it is usually with a little black dress or with an outfit as bold as she is usually subdued.
[ THE HYGIENE ]: Spicer has grown past the age of caring too much about how other people perceive her, unless their perceptions directly interfere with her life. She takes care of herself hygienically, but to her own specifications and not those of the rest of the world. Her teeth are always brushed, and her hair usually is, but Spicer does not worry too much over such trivialities. When she gets swept up in a new theater project or in grading something for her class, she has been known to put her personal hygiene lower on her priority list. In the months during and following her divorce she let herself go, and has promised to never fall into such a state of disrepair again.

FAMILY: HATE TO LOVE 'EM?

[ THE PARENTS ]:
Christine Regina Spicer (nee Altworth); Elementary school teacher, failed actress
    Arnold Joseph Spicer; Magazine Editor
Spicer gets along amiably with her parents, but she has distanced herself from them since the divorce. She has always been on edge around her mother, and though she loves the woman she also resents the way her mother treats her. Since she was small her mother pushed her into acting, and though Spicer eventually found a deep fulfillment from the profession, she wishes she could have found it in her own way.

[ THE SIBLINGS ]: Spicer is an only child
[ OTHER IMPORTANT RELATIONSHIPS ]: Spicer's early career as an actress led her to meet several talented actors, writers, and directors, but that time of her life is far behind her and most of her ties with those people have been lost over the years. She no longer considers what she has with her ex-husband a ‘relationship’, to her it is more like an infuriating game of ‘stay the hell away from me’.
[ IMPORTANT ANCESTRY ]: Her mother’s family is well known on the east coast, but her mother's decisions early in life estranged her from her relatives.

WELCOME TO HARRIMAN!

Welcome to Felicity J. Harriman School for the Arts! We're so happy to have you here at Felicity, and can't wait to start enjoying our artistic experience with you. Why don't you scurry on over and set up a plot page so we can start setting up relationships? Make sure you get a cell phone so that all your friends can contact you! After that, make sure you sign up for some classes so that you can shine at Harriman. Lastly, head on over to the first day of school picnic by the lake, for some good back-to-school celebrations, and a good excuse to postpone classes for a day!
