»"Oh, WG, have you really know decency? This is kind of old news, but it looks like IC might have paid off a few people, like the true politician’s daughter that she is, to keep this little gem on the hush hush. But oh, IC, IC, don’t you know that nothing is safe from me?"

Oh, Baby, Baby!
»"Hey Harrimaners, sorry for my brief abscence, but I’ve been just too busy trying to keep track of all the gossip in this school to even be able to write about it! But this little piece of news was just TOO good for even a busy bee like me to pass up."

»"Yet another car bomb went off in Iraqiranistan at approximately 3 PM this afternoon. Casualties were numbered at as many as twenty Iraqistanis, as well as three American soldiers, and thirty of both parties wounded. A statement has not been issued by the army as to the potential terrorists, but WNB is willing to guesstimate that Tyler Durden + Sack Of Mothballs = Big Explosion"

Maine to Pass Bill for Heavy Budget Cuts; Sports, Arts Suffer
» "Maine has been following the precedent set by several other United States school boards and has been cutting funding significantly to schools, especially for fine arts programs. While this mostly affects public schools, it will also affect a small number of private and magnet schools that receive fundings, grants, and scholarships for students from the government."

Love [betty, bob] Empty Re: Love [betty, bob]

Jay stood behind gauzy red curtains, trying desperately not to pant. The combination of a speedy costume change and a dress that it looked like she'd been poured into made this more difficult than you would think. It was totally worth it though, just to get to be onstage and sing such a sultry song. She took a deep breath and arched her back, ready to take the stage. Her hands hung loose at her side and she looked off at an angle at the ground as the gauzy stuff pulled away from in front of her. A few blasts from a trumpet and she brought her arms up into a V above her head, now gazing straight off to the left. El was sitting at a table in front of her and a bit to the side, and it was very important that she not look at him. Not yet at least. Another burst from the horns and her neck shot her face around to look forward, hands right back at the side. Ooh! The excitement was bubbling up inside of her and it was all that she could do to keep a blank, with just a touch of bitterness, expression on her face as she walked into the company of her dancers.

"Love. You didn't do right by me." she sang, draping herself over two of the dancers, and cocking her hips just enough to make the motion noticeable to the audience. As she sang she let her words catch slight in her throat, rounding out her tones to give the song its forlorn feeling. The dancers fell away from her and she crossed her arms in front of her. "You planned a romance that just hadn't a chance, and I'm through." She looked down at the floor once more, playing the scene with a touch more anger than Rosemary Clooney had. "Loooove. You didn't do right by me! I'm back on the shelf, and I'm blaming myself." Her hands clenched themselves at her side and she let a flash of hurt and anger cross her face. "But it's you." Her head turned pointedly towards El, her glance of longing and loathing. A glance that she would certainly have been punished by Nikki for if it had been real.
